Micro-Needling Treatments
Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is an innovative skin rejuvenation treatment that can improve the overall appearance of the skin with minimal down-time. The micro-needling process involves the creation of microscopic channels through the surface of the skin, which leads to formation of new tissue and releases the skin’s natural growth factors which promotes scar and hyperpigmentation repair and healing. This can be enhanced by application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), growth factor gels, kojic acid, and hyaluronic acid based skin rejuvenation treatments.
By creating minor skin injury during the procedure, the skin’s natural healing process initiates the production of new collagen and elastin fibers that thicken the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scarring, sun damage, and stretch marks.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN MICRO-NEEDLING IMPROVE?
Micro-Needle based procedures can be used to effectively treat a variety of issues including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage and aging spots
- Light to moderate acne scarring
- Stretch marks
- Issues with skin texture or pore size
- Post-surgical scarring
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning, also known as microplaning or blading, is a non-invasive procedure for the removal of the outermost layers of dead skin cells on the face. The dermaplaning treatment involves exfoliation of targeted areas of the surface layers of the skin using a very small blade. The blade is stroked along the skin at an angle, much like shaving.
Unlike exfoliating peel procedures, dermaplaning uses no chemicals, and therefore causes less irritation. The result is skin that is immediately freshened and vitalized, even after one treatment. Patients often benefit from multiple treatments spaced three to four weeks apart.
BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING INCLUDE:
• Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles • Reduction in the appearance of deep acne scars • Smoother, more even complexion • Removal of fine facial hair, commonly referred to as “peach fuzz” • Enhanced penetration of skin care products following treatment
Dermaplaning can be an alternative to chemical peels or microdermabrasion, and may be ideal for patients with extremely sensitive skin, unwanted facial hair, rosacea, or visible facial veins. The treatment can also be combined with a chemical peel to allow the peel to penetrate the skin more deeply and evenly.
Microdermabrasion
As we age, our skin gets dry and dull and signs of sun damage commonly appear over time. Micodermabrasion reverses the signs of aging to deliver supple, glowing skin in just one treatment. During the treatment, a top layer of the skin is exfoliated and unwanted dead cells are removed leaving the skin supple and glowing. Microdermabrasion is a safe, well-tested procedure that can be used in combination with Photofacial, Chemical Peels and Micro-needling.
BENEFITS OF MICRODERMABRASION:
- Removes dull skin
- Corrects problems with hyperpigmentation
- Minimizes the appearance of enlarged or clogged pores
- Improves the skin’s texture
- Available for all skin types
- Promotes cell regeneration
- Reduces the appearance of lines
- Diminishes blemishes
What is microdermabrasion?
It is a resurfacing procedure that gently exfoliates the top layer of skin and removes the unwanted dead cells by vacuuming them away. Removing this top layer of dead skin, the skin looks and feels smoother. Microdermabrasion promotes better circulation in the face and significantly enhances collagen production, responsible for cell and skin renewal.
